Nissan. it can only flow so much air and fuel without forced induction of some type ( NOS/Turbos/SC). Most of the engines systems are already optimized for its configurations so the gain given by standard mods are small in comparison to other NA engines that are not as engineered for high output but rather rely on cubic inches ( take the power output of say a 5.7L chevy as an example)to make power without having to engineer to the nth degree to optimize performance. As an example, take honds 2L engine in the S2000..it is about as optimized an engine as there is given the power output vs its displacement. doing larger exhaust/chip/pulley/headers ect ect on that engine will , like the NA Z, result in extremely small gains if any because the engine has already been optimized. You would have to use forced induction to get any meaningful gains in power output.
